Data centre infrastructure
In Australia alone, investment in data centre infrastructure is expected to exceed $10 billion dollars over the next 5 years – making cloud computing one of the fastest growing sectors in the country.
This rapid growth means there is a lot of demand for people with the skills to design, build, upgrade, operate and maintain our vital Cloud network infrastructure.
Job seekers looking for a rewarding career in a secure industry need look no further than the Cloud. There are many career paths available for anyone with the right skills, experience and passion, whether you are interested in architecture, development, operations, sales, security or management.
What is “the Cloud”?
In simple terms, the Cloud is the Internet – or all of the things you can access remotely over the Internet. When something is in the cloud, it means it’s stored on servers located in a data centre instead of your computer’s hard drive.
The “cloud” is often portrayed as an abstract concept where data and applications float seamlessly in a virtual realm. However, the cloud is far from abstract, in fact it needs physical infrastructure – and lots of it. And to build and maintain that infrastructure, requires a whole industry of people!
